CatCap, a leading German M&A advisor, acquired the advisory activities of Dansk Merchant Capital, including the team led by Anders Bo and Flemming C. Pedersen. This is the third international step from CatCap within twelve months, as CatCap acquired companies in both Stockholm and London in 2018. The vision of CatCap is to be the preferred partner for business owners and entrepreneurs who want to make important steps in their corporate development, by means of equity.
CatCap recognises a growing interest from German clients to invest and partner outside of Germany. The strong historical ties within trade between Germany and Denmark and given the significant number of successful Danish companies, the Danish market is therefore very interesting.
“We have been an active M&A advisor in Germany for many years, but investment banking is becoming more and more international. We are really happy to have closed this agreement as Anders Bo, Flemming C. Pedersen and their team bring us sector knowledge, local connections and a lot of energy”, says Michael Moritz, CEO and Founding Partner at CatCap.
CatCap now has more than 70 professionals in offices in Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, London, Stockholm, and Copenhagen. CatCap focuses on technology-oriented, midsized businesses and growth companies with special attention to business services, industrials, life sciences, software, internet, technology and consumer goods.
“For the last 8 years we have been cooperating closely with CatCap in the large international M&A network Globalscope, and we are happy to integrate and work even closer together, to the benefit of our clients. We believe that Danish business owners and entrepreneurs will benefit from CatCap’s access to highly knowledgeable investors and business owners from outside the Scandinavian market”, says Flemming C. Pedersen, Managing Partner, CatCap Denmark.
“Besides strong M&A execution capabilities our contributions to CatCap are our Equity Capital Market activities. We are one of the most active mid-market advisors within raising equity on Nasdaq Copenhagen. CatCap’s Equity Research activities in Stockholm covers more than 60 publicly listed companies, and we will combine these activities into new unique product offerings towards midsized Nordic companies”, says Anders Bo, Managing Partner, CatCap Denmark.
