Carlsquare acted as exclusive financial advisor to Brøndby IF in connection with their successful public offering of shares on Nasdaq Copenhagen. Brøndby IF is one of the most successful Danish football clubs, based near Copenhagen, with a history of winning ten Danish Championships (Superligaen) and seven Danish Cups (DBU Pokalen).
The issue was structured as a rights issue, with preferential rights for existing shareholders and resulted in gross proceeds of DKK 129 million. The strengthening of Brøndby IF’s capital base gives Brøndby IF the opportunity to redeem its long-term interest-bearing debt as well as the opportunity to improve facilities to the benefit of fans and sponsors.
Ole Palmå, Brøndbyernes I.F. Fodbold A/S CEO, says: ”We are very pleased with the result of the issue and we see it as a great statement of confidence for the club and our strategy. It is to date the largest proceeds of a share issue made by the club and we are particularly pleased to see how many shareholders and investors, small and large, that have contributed, allowing us to take the next step together. Whether you have invested a few hundred kroner or six-digit sums, everyone has contributed to the fact that today we have a great result. The gross proceeds allow us, as a club, to pursue the ambitions we have for a Brøndby IF in financial balance and for meeting our sporting goals.”
Ole Palmå continues: “The size of the gross proceeds means that we can now continue with the plan we described in the prospectus. We are very pleased that we can now start investing in the renovation of the South Side (southern side of Brøndby Stadion) and thus again reaching full spectator capacity for the benefit of fans and sponsors.”
Carlsquare acted as financial advisor to Brøndbyernes I.F. Fodbold A/S in connection with organizing the structure of the issue, structuring and completion of the rights issue, preparation of the prospectus and coordination of dialogue with the Danish FSA as well as with other advisors.
