• Is the world facing a new energy crisis? Oil prices are rising fast. There is talk of an energy crisis locally in China, the UK, Germany, and Sweden. Shift to fossil free products, for rapid dismantling of nuclear power, component shortages and political reasons. The trend seems clear towards energy being a scarce commodity in the coming decade. This could erode company profitability and create higher consumer prices. This may be why interest rates are now rising rapidly
• On the positive side, the crisis surrounding Chinese housing developer Evergrande seems to have blown over – at least for now.
