FLEX Capital takes over a majority stake in the QR code specialist Egoditor and supports the management team in implementing their growth strategy. Together with their new partner the founders of Egoditor will remain in the management and would like to concentrate on opening up new marketing channels and offering tailored service and product offers for enterprise and agency customers.
Egoditor was founded in 2009 by Nils Drescher and Nils Engelking. Egoditor’s goal is to make mobile marketing possible for everyone and to help customers from all over the world in achieving their business goals. In the meantime, the Egoditor website “QR-Code-Generator.com” has become a market pioneer in the industry. Users can create their own QR code design, market and manage their campaigns, and get marketing statistics.
Egoditor’s unique product, the “QR Code Generator PRO” software for advanced users, is a user friendly SaaS solution based on a ready-to-use self-service approach. Egoditor has a strong global presence in more than 180 countries. Over 90% of sales are generated outside of Germany, with 30% in the United States as the company’s most important market.
Since FLEX Capital closed its fund in December 2019, it has been looking for high-growth medium-sized companies. FLEX Capital is an active investor who develops its portfolio companies based on the entrepreneurial experience of its partners. In particular in the SaaS area, FLEX has an extensive track record and therefore knows all the relevant parameters for setting up and expanding these business models. The investment in Egoditor is the first investment by FLEX Capital.
